Other than the "I'm a sheep" reponse, can people explain to me why they're moving from MySpace to Facebook? I've never really been much of a fan of MySpace but do admit it's a useful way to keep in touch and also find new bands. I tried Facebook for 5 minutes, and really didn't like it; felt like it was an invasion of privacy. There also doesn't seem to be anything on it; you've at least got bands on MySpace. So I am really confused as to why anyone would move to Facebook. Can someone explain it to me please.

I prefer Myspace, looks better, you can personalise your page etc etc. I've got a Facebook as well, mainly just to waste time on. But I wouldn't abandon myspaz for it! __________________ If I was a stranger to you, would you fall in love with me too

I know people who've used Faceparty for years. I've never used it, but I can understand the allure and fun in it. Facebook is such a dull proposition however, it's allure totally alludes me. The MySpace backlash was inevitable (as was the Friendster backlash before it), but to jump ship to Facebook seems most bizarre (I do of course wish people would jump onto this ship instead, but that will come, that will come...).

those facebook status updates are quite cute (yes, I know myspace has them too, but noone really uses them, do they?), but that's the only thing it's got going for it. I know some people liked that facebook looked neater and less cluttered than myspace, but now with all those applications and graphitti walls and what-not, I don't think that's the case anymore. __________________ Shake hips, not fists

People kept sending me those damn 'come and join facebook invites' in the end I got so many I relented and joined-I like it for the moment -1) cos its new and novel 2)you can do that vampire/werewolf type business and p[lay littel games 3) better provacy settings than myspace-so i can sort out my make up/effects port without showing the whole world 4)loads of people have found me on there that i havent seen in years-and i like that, others shy away from being so 'known' by other people you live near-but its got me a few make up clients and i think is generally quite nice 5)I havent got time to sit there and pimp up a page and on facebook theres no option to
going to bed now, cant be arse to thnk of anymore, see most of you tommorow eve! xxxx

Im not really a fan of facebook. I was always just happy with myspace and thought that facebook was a uni thing. But then my boyfriend said that anyone could join and set me up an account. I think you need a uni degree just to understand how to work the bloody thing. I really dont understand it (maybe thats just me) and its so boring. \My boyfriend practically lives on the damn thing!!. Myspace is def better in my opinion.

I think FACILEBOOK is the most anal piece of banality I ever trod in. It is the internet equivalent of a gated community and if you are not on the list you are sure as hell not getting in ANYWHERE. I think part of the Bowie / Glam aesthetic and philosophy is re-invention and becoming what you wish to rather than what you have been told to. Facilebook is all about where and who you have been rather than what you are in the process of becoming. I am no great fan of Myspace either , especially those "This profile is set to private" time-wasters. I think Facebook = Myspace with ALL the profiles set to private and all the members anally retentive.

corrupt from within yeah, you're stuck with the layout and shit... but... your identity on there or anywhere else online is of your own design.... I wasn't given the name Wiggy when I was a newborn child __________________ i'm invisible

God, I've actually 'used' (in the lightest possible sense) Facebook for a few weeks now. I have like 10 friends on it and it's a complete mess, all this nonsense about everything they do. I don't know how people have time for all this crap. I cannot imagine how anyone who uses it properly can cope with it. If you have 100s of friends on it must you must be completely swamped (and addicted to adding crap - what are all these stupid posts and invitations?!?!). I can see how there's parts of it that are really clever and could be very useful, but there's just too much garbage on it to process which outweighs it's cleverness. I guess as MySpace is copying all the features of Facebook now it might actually become useful if it doesn't go overboard and just adds the useful stuff without all the mess (not that MySpace doesn't have enough mess of it's own). Some of the things I think are useful are features I've been planning to bring in here, but I just haven't had time to finish coding them. Facebook was probably once great for it's simplicity and features, but since they've added the 3rd party applications it's grown into a monster. The controversy with them selling advertising and user details has only gone and made it dirty as well. I can't see me ever doing anything with my profile there unless things change on it drastically. As for the comments above about private profiles, what is wrong with that? I don't want to share everything with the world. The amount of idiots out there, why should they see my stuff? Not that I put anything online that I would consider private anyway, I don't trust these sites to keep things private, there's always bugs in anything that can let things out.

well, for me Facebook is only good to find old classmates because it shows first and last name on every profile & no frills....... but yeah, Kitten is right, it can be an invasion of privacy, Especially when people tag you in those photos you don't necessarily want everyone to see!
